I've a dilemma with which I've been debating the solution.
I'm not sure about that sentence structure, but I'm going to go with it for now.
I don't really blog that much, maybe 3 times a week. And when I do blog, I usually have to search for something to say. I have to face it, my life just doesn't have that many interesting or abnormal occurrences on a daily basis. So, with that glaring me in the face, I'm going to take a little break from blogging. I know, I know, how will the interweb survive. But it will, never fret.
I'm going to take a break and either decide that I do have enough interesting things to talk about on a semi-regular basis, or I'll take the time to come up with a redesign or a new theme for the site, maybe pare down some of the sections that I never update (like camtoons) or serve to up my search hits on Google and Yahoo (like the Babe of the Day).
So, have a happy June!
Jerry and I got together this weekend for a little "throwback to our gaming days" fun. Due in part to the Star Wars hysteria going on everywhere, I was in a bit of a Star Wars mood, and this offered the perfect opportunity to not only play some games, but play some games that have never been freed of their shrinkwrap as they've been sitting on the shelf for the past year. Or two.
Our first game to learn was Star Wars: Epic Duels. It's pretty quick to learn, pretty quick to play. You pick a card that has a major character (Name you should know, like Darth Maul or Mace Windu) that comes with two minor characters, like clone troopers or storm troopers or ewoks. I like to call them "fodder". There are cards involved to throw in some randomness, but the game is basically "kill the 2 fodder characters, race to see who has a card to kill the main character". It actually turned out to be kind of boring. But it had lots of cool figures, especially since the game had been marked down to $7.99! These miniatures could even be used in....
Game #2 was Star Wars Miniatures, a collectible miniatures game that leaves out the random cards and in their place puts random figures. The detail in the figures, and even the maps, are great. There is a little bookkeeping since you need to keep track of hit points and number of times using the Force per character, but after the record keeping of Car Wars and Star Fleet Battles, it's simple. The game is fast paced, but it needs more than "kill all of the opposing force" rules. Fortunately, they also make mission books that come with maps, tiles, and rules for missions to play out scenarios from the various movies.
Of the two, we had a blast playing the Miniatures game. I can see where you can easily get addicted to collecting all sorts of the miniatures for this one. Luckily, I can use my Jer approved mutant power of disposable income to see what all I can acquire!
As most of the world knows, the latest/last installment in the Star Wars Hexology opened yesterday. I say "most" because Gina was oblivious until her son mentioned, with great excitement, the opening of the movie and his plans. I didn't see Episode 2 with the rest of the public, opting instead to wait until the sweet binary flow of home DVD. I liked the way that worked, so I just assumed that I would repeat it over again once Episode 3 comes out around Christmas.
While visiting the Athens branch of my local credit union last night, I looked across the street to the placard in front of the drive-in that sits there and say the advertisement for Episode 3, which just happened to be playing at the time. I looked over the wall of privacy surrounding the lot and saw a 3-story tall C3PO. I had a sudden vision of watching Episode 3 from the comfort of my conveyance. Since I hate theater seating, this is a big plus. It's been decades since I was at a drive-in, so I don't really remember how different it is and how much I'm romantacizing it. But it would be kind of neat, regarless.
I spent some quality time with Jer over the weekend. We were to move tons of furniture, but luckily he had elves take care of the majority of the work on Friday, so we only had to move a few pounds of furniture. That left us quality time to play X Box!
I'm not sure why I've been doing it for 2 weeks now, but I've been lapsing into a Savannah-ish accent occasionaly. Not just any Savannah accent, but the stereotypical southern belle version. It's fun. Or fuh-n. While Jerry and I were battling through the roads of Burnout 3, we both were caught with the fever (fevah) of the accent. "Alas, you have struck me with yoah ve-hickle in a most unbecommin' mannah." This went on for (probably) way too long, but it added our own special flair for the game.
It was also while playing that Jer had to explain something to Elaine. When it comes to driving or fighting games, I will usually emerge victorious. If there's shooting involved, place your money on Jer. Hmmm, it sounds like we may need to play the Transformers game. I think that would have driving, fighting AND shooting! "Optimus Prime, I imploah you to save me from those dreadful Dee-cepticons."
It's amazing what all you can find at Amazon, especially if you're not paying attention and just blindly follow a couple of links. I was looking at DVD releases and trying to learn a little something about the Smallville series - I've been telling myself to never watch it, but the previews make it look interesting, damn it - and along the way I was steered to a poster featuring lesbians kissing.
And the poster is in the Kitchen and Housewares section.
It's a tasteful picture. It's a tasteful black and white picture. I was wondering why this was in Amazon's Kitchen & Housewares section, so I started reading the reviews. My favorite follows:

A Kid's Review
As a male lesbian, I trully enjoy the beauty and essence involved within this kiss. The panties really accentuate the glutei maximi of these magnificent specimens of nature.
As a fellow male lesbian, I can't help but agree. My goal is to try to fit the phrase "panties really accentuate" into a conversation somewhere today. And not get fired.
As always, correct spelling is optional in any blog entry. Keep in mind that any links more than a year old may not be active, especially the ones pointing back to Russellmania (I like to move things around!).
Tags have been added to posts back to 2005. There may be an occasional old blog that gets added to the tag list, but in reality what could be noteworthy from that far back?
